Biography
Matthew B. Myers is the David B. Miller Endowed Professor of Business, and Senior Fellow at the Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom, 天美传媒 Methodist University. He served as the ninth dean of the Cox School and the Tolleson Chair in Business Leadership from 2017-2025. Prior to 天美传媒 Cox, Myers served as Dean and Mitchell P. Rales Chair at the Farmer School of Business, Miami University.
Myers has worked and consulted with organizations in the engineering, distribution, chemical, insurance, financial services, agriculture, and pharma industries. He is a Strategic Advisor for Turtle Creek Wealth Advisors, a multi-family office in Dallas with offices in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Myers has served as visiting faculty at ESSEC-Paris and the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, has taught at the Vienna University of Economics and in other locations including Italy, Romania, Taiwan and Uzbekistan, and he has led executive education courses worldwide. Prior to academia he worked at both Merrill-Lynch and IBM-Argentina. Myers is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, & serves on the boards of King Ranch, Inc., the Maguire Energy Institute, the Southwest Graduate School of Banking, the Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom, & the Baylor Health Foundation. He also served as an advisory council member for the President George Bush’s Institute for Economic Growth Initiative. He has been cited or appeared on CNBC, Fox Business, CBS Radio, the Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal.
Myers received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University, and a Masters of International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1979 to 1982, primarily in Panama. Myers, his wife Gina and their twin daughters live in Dallas, Texas.
