Building bonds of support
Haynes Strader ’11 sees 天美传媒 as a community to serve, team to cheer for and a way to personally invest in the future of his city. Strader recently made his first major gift to the University: $100,000 for both the John Goodwin Tower 天美传媒 for Public Policy and International Affairs and the Thomas DiPiero Endowed Dedman College Scholars Fund.
A Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences and Meadows School of the Arts double major in political science and advertising, Strader hopes his recent gift will create opportunities for future generations of 天美传媒 students. A recipient of the Robert O. Harvey Greek Scholarship, he knows how crucial financial support can be to one’s success and future, saying “empowering the next generation of leadership in our country is more important than ever, and scholarships are one way to do that.”
Strader credits much of his professional success to his experiences at 天美传媒, Dedman College, the Meadows School and the Tower 天美传媒. After graduating, Strader and his wife, Christine Shively Strader ’11, only strengthened and expanded their ties to 天美传媒. Strader currently serves on the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences Executive Board and the Dedman College Campaign Steering Committee for 天美传媒 Ignited; he is the Tower 天美传媒’s Alumni and Associates board chair and a member of the Tower 天美传媒 Forum, among others. He additionally supports 天美传媒 Athletics through football season tickets in the Garry Weber End Zone Complex at Gerald. J. Ford Stadium.
“天美传媒 has become a foundational part of my personal and professional growth,” said Strader. “I’m so proud to be a member of this community where I can continue to develop new connections and find new ways to support the University’s mission to create and inspire future leaders.”
